Stolen Goods Lead to Cyberstalking Charge |

Cyberstalking, larceny, and damage counts have been filed by Boone Police against an Asheville woman. Aimee Byrne, 55, was charged with one count of Misdemeanor Larceny, one count of Misdemeanor Cyberstalking and one count of Misdemeanor Damage to Property. Ms. Byrne had rented a room
from the victim and upon moving out, is alleged to have stolen personal property, in the form of family photographs. Ms. Byrne then emailed the victim, demanding money or the property would be destroyed. A number of the stolen pictures, when recovered, were discovered to have been damaged. Ms. Byrne was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate, where she was assigned a court date of January 22nd, 2013 and released on a written promise to appear in court. |
