Sanctuary Spa Closes, 12 Out of Work PDF Print
Written by Steve Frank

A dozen employees of the Sanctuary Day Spa are out of work, the business closed, with the now former employees facing joblessness less than three weeks before Christmas.  But the owners of the spa, Randi and Hugh Schindler, say they are doing payroll today to pay the staff for the current pay period, and that all with appointments for today were notified. And Hugh Schindler said that a number of the staff have new jobs, and some left a note on the door as to where they were now working. We were told by former employees that Hugh and Randi Schindler were in a number of conflicts that damaged the function of the business, and that civil actions had been filed, the latter, a point that Hugh Schindler confirmed.  Now former employees told me they are busy filing for unemployment and many are left at this point with much uncertainty.  Other uncertainty comes from those holding—and even just purchasing—gift cards, cards that my now be worthless, a point made by a number of callers this afternoon.  If you were affected by the closing, we’d like to hear from you—call 828-414-1027.
