Lenoir-Rhyne Football's Kaleb Myrick has earned 2012 Honorable Mention All-American accolades for NCAA Division II by the Beyond Sports College Network (BSN). Myrick, a senior offensive lineman from

Loganville, Ga., was a First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference and All-Super Region 2 honoree this fall. Myrick was also a co-winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 2012, given annually to the top offensive lineman in the South Atlantic Conference. Myrick shares the award this season with Carson-Newman's Kevin Day and is the third straight Lenoir-Rhyne player to earn the honor (Chandler Rearden won the award in 2010 and 2011).
Myrick, who was an all-conference honoree in 2010 as well, helped the Bears finish second in the nation in rushing this year at 376.2 yards per game. L-R also averaged over 430 yards of total offense and scored 35.2 points per outing this season.
Lenoir-Rhyne (9-3, 6-1) also won its second straight South Atlantic Conference Championship this fall and first outright league title since 1975. In addition, L-R earned its first postseason berth in 50 years and won its first playoff game since 1962 when Lenoir-Rhyne defeated Fort Valley State by a 21-6 score on November 17, 2012, in Hickory, N.C.
Lenoir-Rhyne ended its season in the Second Round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs with a 38-35 setback to league-foe Carson-Newman on Saturday, November 24, in Jefferson City, Tenn.
