A Ski Mountain Road property lost its garage to a fire this morning.  The blaze was reported at about 9:40 at 778 Ski Mountain Road, causing Blowing Rock and Boone Fire to respond, finding flames and smoke coming from the detached garage. Firefighters knocked down the fire in short order, but the structure was mostly gone—only a small section at the rear still standing.  Blowing Rock asked for the Fire Marshal to be dispatched to the scene to help determine the cause and losses.  Ownership and other details were not immediately available, the house having a realty sign in front.
