A wreck late last night in Avery County saw a man ejected from his vehicle and rushed to Cannon Memorial after calling off WINGS Air Rescue even while en route. The crash occurred at about 11 last night at the Mt. Pleasant-Trim Branch Road-Horney Road intersection, arriving first responders reporting the man conscious but suffering injuries in being ejected from the vehicle.  As arrangements were made for a landing zone at the Crossnore Baptist Church property, Avery Medics made the decision that treatment could not wait for and the man was rushed to Linville.  The State Patrol was called to the scene, but their report has not been released at this point.
