Boone Man, Tennessee Woman Sentenced PDF Print

Federal sentencing has taken place in cases involving a Boone man and Tennessee woman, charged with a large-scale meth operation. On Tuesday November 20th, William Greene of Boone, and on Tuesday November 27th, Minnie Carol Taylor of Elizabethton, TN entered guilty pleas and were sentenced to the Federal Bureau of Prisons for Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine. Greene, of 1627 US Hwy 421 received 96 months and Taylor, of of 205 Reanna Dawn Circle, Elizabethton, received 57 months for their respective parts in a conspiracy that was responsible for the manufacture of more than two kilograms of methamphetamine over a 10 year period.  In 2008 Agents with Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit began an investigation into a large scale methamphetamine manufacturing organization operating in NC and TN. The United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) became involved in the investigation and in May 2012, 11 people from Tennessee and North Carolina were indicted in the Eastern District of Tennessee.
