Blowing Rock Police want to remind all that travel through town will get more complicated today as Valley Blvd will be closed today and Thursday from 11 am till 3 pm due to the construction. The road will be closed Tuesdays and Thursdays for blasting and rock removal, today from North Main to the Food Lion Entrance. You will be able to access Food Lion from the Sunset Drive end. Traffic will be detoured down Main Street. Please allow yourself extra time traveling in Town. If you are parents who normally pick up your children at the school, please allow some extra time in the afternoon. We will be working closely with school officials to keep traffic flowing as smooth as possible. 
Also, for those of your living in the Aho community, expect delays as DOT work on the bridge at the end of the road. DOT officials are repairing one side of the bridge foundation that has been damaged due to water erosion. The repairs are expected to last about a week.
