Saturday morning, the US Fire Service and the NC Fire Service were fighting a 45-50 acre forest fire in the Globe Mountain area near Collettsville. Fire service crews were being assisted by several local Volunteer Fire Department crews.

The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office Communications center advises that no homes are currently threatened.
