 Christina Dorismond, a junior middle blocker on the Furman volleyball team, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for November 21, the league office
announced today, her second honor of the season. Dorismond led the Paladins to the championship match of the SoCon tournament with an incredible come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Georgia Southern in the semifinals. She recorded 14 kills and three blocks in the semifinals, before hitting .652 with 17 kills in the Paladins’ 3-2 loss to College of Charleston in the finals. Dorismond also hit .375 with 11 kills in Furman’s first-round win over Elon. The Cary, N.C., holds a 3.98 GPA in Chemistry and was named to the SoCon Volleyball Tournament All-Tournament team. Other nominees included Chattanooga football’s Davis Tull.
