 The Watauga High football team had five players named to the Northwestern 3A/4A All-Conference team that was released on Sunday. Junior wide receiver Cameron Baker led the way. Baker, who was
named the WBTV Player of the Week October 29, led WHS with 40 catches this season for 711 yards and seven touchdowns. He turned in a career-best performance on Senior Night with six catches for 215 yards and three TDs against St. Stephens. Baker was joined on the all-conference squad by defensive back/wide receiver DeWayne Mackey, offensive/defensive linemen Wade Norris and Taylor Shuford, and defensive back Nick McLean. Mackey, a senior, was second on the team in tackles with 80 stops, including 41 solos, and he also led the team with five intercepitons. Offensively, Mackey caught 26 passes for 262 yards and two TD. Shuford led the Pioneers with 103 tackles as a defensive tackle. He also had 38 solo stops, and led the team with 15 tackles-for-loss and 4.5 quarterback sacks.
