A fire late Friday night claimed the life of a 60-year old Lenoir woman.  Police there identified the deceased as Shiela Jean Jones, killed in her 431 Vance Street Apt. # 29, in the 11:10 pm fire. The Lenoir Police Department responded to the structure fire and found the deceased woman. The cause of the fire is under investigation by both fire and police investigators. Fire investigators estimated damage to the apartment building at $100,000 dollars, and their release said the Red Cross was called to assist tenants in adjoining apartments displaced by the fire.
