 Wide receiver Tony Washington and offensive lineman Graham Fisher of Appalachian State University have been named first-team selections to the
CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Three Team. Washington, a 5-foot-ten junior from High Point, N.C., has a 3.77 grade-point-average and is majoring in architectural design; Washington is third on the team with 32 receptions for 432 yards and three touchdowns. He caught the game-winning TD pass against Georgia Southern last Saturday. Fisher, a 6-2, 285 pound sophomore from Tuscola High School, has a 3.72 GPA and he is majoring in finance and banking. The 2012 Capital One Academic All-District Football Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA’s Academic All‐America teams programs since 2011. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All‐America Team ballot, where first-, second-, and third-, team All-America honorees will be announced later this month.
