An Avery man was injured in a Boone crash this morning on NC 105 in front of the Marriott. The 9am crash occurred as Robert Sweiter of Todd pulled across 105 from the Highlands Union Bank, his vision blocked by a large panel truck. As the truck cleared, Sweiter found himself in the path
of the ’93 Honda of Jordan Corrigan of Newland, which collided with Swieter’s Ford pickup. Corrigan’s passenger, 31-year old Dereke Bennett, of Montezuma, was injured in the crash, and was taken to Watauga Medical Center by Watauga Medics suffering non-life threatening injuries. Boone Police cited both drivers, Robert Swieter with a yield violation and Jordan Corrigan with unsafe tires. |
