Head coach Scott Milanovich of the Toronto Argonauts has announced that veteran offensive lineman Wayne Smith had season-ending surgery Tuesday to repair a torn tricep suffered in Toronto's 43-40

win last Thursday against Hamilton. The six-foot-two, 305-pound Smith has played for the the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who selected him with the first overall pick in the 2004 CFL Canadian college draft. The 32-year-old Smith also spent time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, earning a Grey Cup ring with the club in '07.
Smith, who played at Appalachian State University and graduated in 2001, has also been a member of the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos of the National Football League.
