 Senior linebacker Jeremy Kimbrough of Appalachian State, has been named the Southern Conference October Defensive Player of the Month in football.
Kimbrough had at least nine tackles in all four of the Moutaineers’ October games, totaling 43 for an average of 10.75 per game. The Decatur, Ga., senior added four tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and an interception over the course of the month. Kimbrough made 15 stops versus Wofford on Oct. 20 and recorded career highs with three sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss at Western Carolina on Oct. 27. Other nominees were Jonathan Spain (Elon), John Stevenson (Georgia Southern), Jaquiski Tartt (Samford), Davis Tull (Chattanooga) and Alvin Scioneaux (Wofford).
