 The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Swimming Team defeated Pfeiffer by a 151-110 score Friday evening in a dual meet at the Shuford Physical Education Center. On the women's side, Lenoir-Rhyne fell in a tri-meet to both Converse (67-37) and
Pfeiffer (71-33). Converse defeated Pfeiffer by a 56-48 score. L-R sophomore Kyle Hites (Lenoir, N.C.) led the men's squad with three victories: the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.30), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.75) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.50). Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Jonathan Hofrichter (Tampa, Fla.) picked up two wins as well with victories in the 1,000-yard freestyle (a school-record 9:53.36) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:51.35). The other double winner on the night was senior Teddy Esch (Lenoir, N.C.). Esch won both the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.79) and 200-yard butterfly (2:03.82) events. In addition, the Bears prevailed in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:39.65. The Lenoir-Rhyne's women's squad was led by freshman Leah Watts (Hickory, N.C.), who won three events: the 100-yard freestyle (55.16), the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.64) and 200-yard individual medley (2:12.47). The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams will next compete in the Fall Frenzie in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday, November 16, and Saturday, November 17. |
