Well, the drama continues to build concerning the playing-status of Appalachian State University quarterback Jamal Jackson and his knee injury. Jackson was injuried during the first quarter of last Saturday's game in Cullowee against

Western Carolina.
Logan Hallock from West Wilkes High came on in relief and turned in a stellar effort by completing 95.2% of his passes in a 38-27 win against the Catamounts. Hallock was 20-21 for 232 yards and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions. As of Tuesday, Jackson has been listed as questionable for Saturday's big showdown against No.1 Georgia Southern (17 fisrt-place votes) in Statesboro. Jackson was limited at practice both Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles, who are ranked No.2 in The Sports Network Poll (despite 76 first-place votes compared to 59 for No.1 North Dakota State), Chattanooga 39-31 in triple overtime last week.
The Mountaineers defeated Georgia Southern (7-1; 6-1 SoCon) 24-17 at Kidd Brewer Stadium last season. But the Eagles handed ASU (6-3; 4-2) its first loss of the season in 2010 in Statesboro, and the Eagles also snapped Appalachian State's 26-game conference win streak that season.
Ironically, prior to the loss in 2010, the Mountaineers only other defeat in SoCon play came against Georgia Southern in a 38-35 loss at Kidd Brewer Stadium in 2007. This is the 28th meeting between the schools. ASU owns a 14-12 lead in the series with a tie. Coverage begins at 12 noon on AM 1450, WATA.
