An upset bid came in Friday for the old Watauga High Property, and the new bidder is being represented by Templeton Properties. The new bid, $18,948,000, did not come with a disclosed plan from Phil Templeton, but the bid exceeds the $18 million from Campus Crest Development.
So the new bid puts the county into a new 10-day waiting period, ending at 5pm November 8th, with any potential bidder needing to offer just under $20 million to go to the next level. It was only two years ago that the property, once hoped to bring over $25 million, was appraised at something over $8 million. With continued interest, Watauga Commissioners may get back to a level more to their liking. |
