UPDATED: NW3A/4A Volleyball Team Released PDF Print

The Watauga High volleyball team was well recognized on the Northwestern 3A/4A All-Conference Team. The Pioneers had three players---

Channing Hagaman, Rebecca Hayes and Ashlyn VanDyke---named to the all-conference squad. Hayes was named the NW3A/4A Offensive Player of the Year; VanDyke shared Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors with Farrah Young of Hickory.
Terri Fullbright of Alexander Central was named the Coach of the Year, and St. Stephens, which won the league title, led the way with four players on the all-conference squad.
WHS (17-12) and South Caldwell (16-10), the most improved team in conference play, and St. Stephens (24-1), in Class 3A, were eliminated in the sectional finals Thursday night. Cornelius-Hough defeated WHS, 3-0; Asheville-Roberson knocked off South Caldwell, 3-2; West Henderson defeated St. Stephens, 3-1.

Meredith Farthing of the Pioneers was named Honorable Mention All-NW3A/4A.
