Eight former Appalachian State University football student-athletes are currently in the National Football League and seven are members of their teams' active 53-man rosters. Below is a look at

how the former Mountaineers fared in Week 6 of NFL action:
LB D.J. Smith (Green Bay Packers) recorded three tackles in Green Bay's 42-24 victory over the Houston Texans but suffered a knee injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season. Smith ends his 2012 season with 39 tackles and two sacks.
On Monday night, DB Corey Lynch (San Diego Chargers) recorded his first fumble recovery of the season to go along with one tackle in the Chargers' 35-24 loss to the Denver Broncos.
OL Daniel Kilgore (San Francisco 49ers) saw playing time on a handful of plays in a 26-3 loss to the New York Giants, including San Francisco's longest play of the afternoon when QB Alex Smith hooked up with WR Randy Moss on a 55-yard completion.
WR Brian Quick (St. Louis Rams) was inches away from recording his first career touchdown after being tackled at one-yard line on a one-yard completion. The reception was Quick's only catch in the Rams' 17-14 road loss to the Miami Dolphins.
DB DeAndre Presley (Miami Dolphins) saw action on special teams for the second-straight week but did not record any statistics in the 17-14 win over St. Louis.
WR Armanti Edwards (Carolina Panthers) and RB Travaris Cadet (New Orleans Saints) were on their respective bye weeks and will return to action in Week 7.
DE Jason Hunter (Denver Broncos) remains on the injured reserve list after suffering a season-ending injury to his bicep.
