Arizona Fall League underway!
Three members of the 2012 Hickory Crawdads, C Kellin Deglan, SS Luis Sardinas and SS Hanser Alberto, are still playing ball this fall for the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League, which began play on Oct. 9. and goes through Nov. 15.
The Saguaros have played six games so far and are 3-3. Sardinas (below) has appeared in two games and is second on the team with a .444 batting average. Alberto and Deglan have appeared in three and one games, respectively.
Joining the trio on the Saguaros roster are former Crawdads LHP Miguel De Los Santos (2010), SS Leury Garcia (2009-10), LHP Jimmy Reyes (2011), RHP Ryan Rodebaugh (2011) and RHP Ben Rowen (2011), along with other prospects from the Rangers, Atlanta Braves, Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays and Kansas City Royals farm systems.

Join the Crawdads for Autumn-themed fun, food and entertainment at this year's FREE Fall Fling, featuring $1 hot dogs and Pepsi products, FREE popcorn, other concession items, deals at the Team Store, games on the field and more. All fans can hang out with Conrad the Conrad, while kids can play in the Bounce House and test their arm at the Speed Pitch. And do you like pie? There will be a Pumpkin Pie Eating contest with the winner receiving a grand prize of a brand new pumpkin pie! We like pie.
Additionally, the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will also be hosting a blood drive from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Anyone who gives blood during this time will get a FREE ticket to any April or May Crawdads game in 2013!

There is just one more week left to vote for Team Photographer Tracy Proffitt's photo of Crawdads INF Trever Adams as the MiLBY Photo of the Year! In the photo, Adams is colliding with Delmarva Shorebirds C Adam Davis during a play at the plate on July 7. Adams was safe on the play, which took place in the first inning, and the 'Dads went on to win, 12-5.
Also nominated for 2012 MiLBY Awards are former Crawdads SS Jurickson Profar ('11) for Moment of the Year with the Frisco RoughRiders, RHP Cody Buckel ('11) for Starting Pitcher of the Year with Frisco and Myrtle Beach Pelicans RHP Ben Rowen ('11) for Relief Pitcher of the Year. Voting begins October 22.
Peelin' Eatin' & Politickin' at the ballpark on Thurs., Oct. 25!
Join us on Thurs., Oct. 25 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at L.P. Frans Stadium for the 3rd annual Peelin' Eatin' and Politickin' Shrimp Boil, presented by the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Catawba County Democratic Party and the Catawba County Republican Party.
All local, state and national elected officials and candidates are invited as guests for this evening of networking, food and entertainment as The Idle Time Band will be playing. Bloggin' with the 'Dads!
Be sure to check out the Crawdads blog this off season as the 'Dads Front Office staff writes about everything from the world of sports to what happens while baseball's not being played at L.P Frans Stadium.
