It was a tale of two halves Monday night. The Watauga Middle School football team won the first half, but came up short in the second half. The end

result, the Wolverines (3-4) saw a 30-16 halftime lead slip away in a 44-30 loss to Gamewell.
"It was tough," said Watauga coach Steve Breitenstein. "We played great in the first half, but they played better in the second half. All you can say is that we won the first half, 30-16, but we lost the second half, 28-0."
Hamilton Castle paced the Wolverines with a touchdown run, a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion; Corey West was on the receiving end of Castle's TD toss; Evan Suggs and Joey Watson each scored a TD; Case Taylor had a pair of two-point conversions.
