Avery Officers have made an arrest in a break-in in progress from early this morning, that after residents woke to the sound of breaking glass. The call came in shortly after 6am at a structure on Watauga River Road, just off NC 105 in Avery County, the caller reporting that noises
continued in the upper level of the structure after the initial breaking glass, heard by residents who lived on a lower level. Officers from Seven Devils and Banner Elk joined in the rush to the scene, the first arriving unit reporting the break-in in progress, and within two minutes, an arrest made. Just before 7, officers took the suspect to the jail and magistrate, and more details are yet to come.
