It's that time of year when football teams find themselves nursing their bumps and bruises. For the Mountaineers, they seem to be getting hot at the

right time. ASU is riding a three-game winning streak as the Mountaineers make their way to Birmingham, AL., Saturday for a top-25 showdown with Samford.
The Mountaineers are ranked 13th in The Sports Network Poll; the Bulldogs are 25th. And the Mountaineers will be a little shorthanded.
"We're a couple of players short," said ASU coach Jerry Moore. "But injuries are part of this business. But I like where we are right now. We've had a good two or three weeks, but things are starting to come togther."
But the Mountaineers got some good news concerning sophomore linebacker Deuce Robinson, who had successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Monday night. Robinson may miss as little as two weeks. But offensive lineman Alex Acey will be out six weeks with a broken foot. He was injuried last Saturday against Elon.
Coverage of ASU-Samford begins at 1 p.m. on AM 1450, WATA Saturday.
