Bobcats Listed In NCAA Statistics PDF Print

Junior goalkeeper Thomas Rusling (Sheffield, England) is ranked 19th in the nation in total saves, and the Lees-McRae College men's soccer team is listed in eight individual and team categories in

this week's edition of the NCAA Division II men's soccer statistics, announced NCAA officials Wednesday.
Lees-McRae (3-7, 2-2 Conference Carolinas) enters the week ranked 36th in the nation in save percentage (0.800) and 42nd in saves per match (5.2) after registering a pivotal 2-1 victory over defending league champion Coker College in extra time on Saturday. The Bobcats are also ranked 73rd in shutout percentage (0.300) and 79th in team goals against average (1.27).
Rusling begins the week ranked 19th in total saves (49) and 33rd in stops per match (4.9), while also being listed 51st in save percentage (0.79) and 85th in goals against average (1.272).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Thursday when the Bobcats travel to Due West, S.C. to take on Erskine College in conference play at 7 p.m.


Sullivan, Kerrigan Tied For 14th Nationally In Assists


Lees-McRae College juniors MaryBeth Sullivan (Greensboro, N.C.) and Kaitlyn Kerrigan (Lakewood Ranch, Fla.) are tied for 14th in the nation in both total assists and helpers per match, announced NCAA officials Wednesday in the latest edition of the NCAA Division II women's soccer statistics.
Lees-McRae (5-3-1, 4-1 Conference Carolinas) enters the week having won four of its opening five matches in conference play, including a pivotal 2-1 win at Belmont Abbey College on Sep. 26. The Bobcats begin the week ranked 39th in the nation in scoring offense (2.33) and 43rd in goals against average (0.772), while also being listed 74th in winning percentage (0.611) and 85th in save percentage (0.806).
Head coach Nick Whiting and his squad cracked the region rankings for the first time this season on Tuesday, entering the week tied with Catawba College for 10th in the NSCAA/Continental Tires NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings.
Sullivan and Kerrigan enter the week tied for 14th in the nation with six total assists each, while also being tied for 14th in assists per match (0.67). Freshman Sarah Mahar (Jacksonville, Fla.) begins the week ranked 52nd in the nation in match-winners with a pair of decisive strikes, as sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Briggs (Oviedo, Fla.) is ranked 55th in goals against average (0.857) and 88th in save percentage (0.800).
Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Thursday when the Bobcats travel to Due West, S.C. to take on Erskine College in conference play at 5 p.m.
