Charles Cochrum, who worked in the Appalachian State University athletic department, has been named an assistant Sports Information Director at

his alma mater, Rice University, in his home town of Houston, TX.
"It's nice to be going back home," Cochrum said. "All of my family is in Houston. My old school kept calling, and I finally decided to make the move."
Cochrum will work with the men's basketball team and the golf programs, similiar to his duties at ASU. Cochrum was an associate SID at ASU before he officially stepped down on September 25.
