The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team shot a 300 (+8) on the first day of the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate Monday at the Sea Trail Golf Resort. L-R, who is co-hosting the tournament with Lincoln Memorial, is currently in 12th place after the

first round of play. Mount Olive leads the tournament after shooting a 280 (-8) on the par-72, 6,761-yard course and is two strokes ahead of Newberry.
L-R is led by freshman David Donovan (Hampstead, N.C.), who is tied for sixth with a two-under 70. Barton's Daniel Claytor is the top men's player after 18 holes of play as he carded a 68 (-4). Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Trey Westbrooks (Alamance, N.C.) is tied for 45th with a 75 (+3) while sophomore Drew Alford (Statesville, N.C.) shot a 76 (+4), good for a tie for 52nd-place overall.
On the women's side, Saint Leo sits in first place after the first round by firing a 291 (+3) on the par-72, 5,988-yard course.
Saint Leo's Lauren Petty and Tusculum's Jillian Corum are tied for first entering the final round. Both players shot an even-par 72.
L-R senior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) is tied for 31st with an 81 (+9) to lead the women's team while freshman Elizabeth Ewing (Greensboro, N.C.) is tied for 66th with a 90 (+18) for the Bears as well.
The final round of the tournament takes place on Tuesday.
