![]() On the strength of his record-tying third 100-yard effort in as many games, Appalachian State University wide receiver Sean Price (Reston, Va./South Lakes) has been named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Price, a redshirt freshman from Reston, Va., caught eight passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns in Appalachian State’s 55-14 win over Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Price, who also topped 100 receiving yards in each of his first two games of the season, tied Appalachian’s all-time record with his third-straight 100-yard game. Brian Quick (2011), DaVon Fowlkes (2004) and Bob Agle (1968) are the only other Mountaineers with three-consecutive 100-yard receiving games.
MOUNTAINEERS MOVE UP TWO SPOTS IN POLLS: After a dominating performance on both sides of the ball in the 41-point win over Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State moved up two spots in both major NCAA Division I FCS top 25 polls this week. The Mountaineers come in at No. 15 in The Sports Network’s media poll and No. 14 in the American Football Coaches Association rankings.
