Appalachian State University women’s soccer freshman goalkeeper Megan Roberson has been named Southern Conference Player of the Week
by CollegeSportsMadness.com for matches played from Sept. 24-30. Roberson closed out the weekend with two shutouts in two victories over Georgia Southern and Davidson. The Kernersville, N.C. native tallied six saves in over 198 minutes played. Roberson currently holds a 5-2 record and three total shutouts for the season. “I am very proud of Megan,” head coach Sarah Strickland said. “She has stepped up in big games and made some amazing saves that were key in our wins. The entire backline and goalkeeping crew are to be commended for such a big award.” The Mountaineers will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 5 when they head to Chattanooga, looking to extend their three-match conference-winning streak.
