 The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Cross Country Team won the inaugural Bulldog Invitational, hosted by The Citadel, Saturday morning at Laurel Hill Plantation. The first-place finish is the second in a row for the Bears. L-R were led by junior
Laura Rhyne (Taylorsville, N.C.), who finished third overall on the 5K course with a time of 20:05. The Citadel's Danielle McKee was the top female in the race as she finished in 19:07. Senior Elizabeth Chaffee (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and junior Ashley Kale (Maiden, N.C.) finished fourth and sixth overall with times of 20:06 and 20:33, respectively, as well for the Bears. On the men's side, L-R finished second overall in the team standings while The Citadel placed first. The Bulldogs also had the top individual in Kyle Keene, who ran the 8K in 25:33. L-R sophomore Mike York (Kannapolis, N.C.) led the Bears with a ninth-place finish and a time of 27:16. Lenoir-Rhyne junior Aaron Nelson (Mayodan, N.C.) finished 10th (27:47) while senior Zack Queen (Gastonia, N.C.) clocked a 28:10 to place 11th overall. Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Cross Country will next compete in the Royal Challenge, hosted by Queens, in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday, October 12, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
