HUSKIES FALLS SHORT AGAINST NORTH

The Ashe County High football team just can't seem to buy a break of late. The Huskies (2-5 overall; 1-3 in the Mountain Valley 1A/2A Conference) dropped a 15-13 decision at North Wilkes Friday night.  Ashe County had its chances to win the game. But the Huskies failed on both of their attempts to take the lead in the final two minutes of the game.
The Vikings partially blocked a field goal and the Huskies turned the ball over on downs to end the game. The Huskies return home to play Alleghany next Friday night.
