Williams Has Surgery To Remove Tumor PDF Print

University of North Carolina basketball coach Roy Williams is undergoing surgery today to remove a tumor from his right kidney. WRAL.com

first reported the development. The media outlet also reported that Williams, 62, is scheduled to have another surgery to remove another tumor from his left kidney next month.
Williams, a long time assistant under Dean Smith at UNC, became a head coach in 1988 at Kansas. He replaced Matt Doherty at UNC in 2003 and has won two national championships. The first was in 2005. The second was in 2009.
