 The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team is in 14th place after shooting a 305 (+17) during the first round Monday of the Ninth Annual Kiawah Island Invitational at the Cougar Point Golf Course. North
Alabama shot a 280 (-8) to lead by one stroke over USC Aiken, the host school, on the par-72, 6,875-yard course. The Bears are led by sophomore Zach Burket (Taylorsville, N.C.), who is tied for 23rd with a 73 (+1). L-R sophomore Drew Alford (Statesville, N.C.) shot a 75 (+3), good for a 42nd-place tie. L-R junior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.) carded a 78 (+6) and is tied for 63rd while freshman David Donovan (Hampstead, N.C.) is tied for 68th with a 79 (+7) as well. North Alabama's Ricky Stimets leads the tournament after carding a six-under 66 after the first 18 holes of play. The second round of the invitational concludes on Tuesday.
