Cabbie Charged with Ashe Rape PDF Print

Ashe Sheriff James Williams reported this morning that a local taxi driver has been charged with raping a woman who was in his taxi. Ronnie Miller, commonly known as “Bubba” was arrested on Saturday, charged with Second Degree Rape and is currently incarcerated on a $200,000 secured bond.  Miller, 57, is the owner and operator of Bubba’s Taxi Service in West Jefferson.  The Spring Trail Drive, West Jefferson resident will have his first appearance on Thursday, September 20, and Sheriff Williams says the investigation into this matter continues, and the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information to call either Jerry or Carolyn at 846-5933 or 846-5604.  Your call will be kept strictly confidential.
