 The Watauga High junior varsity football team remained undefeated with a 30-6 pasting of Fred T. Foard in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference opener for both teams Thursday night at Jack
Groce Stadium. The Pioneers (5-0 overall; 1-0 NW3A/4A) took a commanding 23-6 halftime lead and coasted home. Running back Nathan Ford led the way with a pair of rushing touchdowns---he scored on touchdown runs of 2 and 28 yards in the first half. Quarterback Aaron Dobbins threw a 33-yard scoring pass to Anthony Deiters, and he scored on a two-point conversion run. Michael Ebaugh scored on a 26-yard double reverse and he caught a two-point conversion pass. Chase Palm kicked a pair of extra points. Watauga plays at Hickory next week. |
