A bicyclist was airlifted after an accident at the Rocky Knob Park just before dark last night.  The bicyclist, said to be a 20-year old male, suffered possible head injuries in a crash near the power lines that cross the property, an area well away from easy access. Boone Fire and medics had to hike in rolling a stokes basket to the accident site, then carefully remove the injured biker to a Watauga Medics ambulance, then to the landing zone set up at the old county landfill just off US 421.  Condition information on the injured cyclist not available late last night.
