A man was airlifted from a ball field in Blowing Rock after falling off of a roof yesterday afternoon.  The 52-year old was working at the home at 213 Ridgetop Drive at about 1:45 when he fell approximately 20 feet,(video: http://www.youtube.com/user/GoBlueRidgeNews?feature=mhee) causing a number of injuries. Watauga Medics rushed the man to the ball field-turned landing zone by Blowing Rock Fire/Rescue where they met WINGS4 for the flight to the Johnson City Medical Center—a landing accomplished around a number of thunderstorms hitting the area at about the same time.
