The 2012 Home and Small Business Expo was hosted at the Chapman Center on the campus of the YMCA in Linville Tuesday. Over 30 businesses came together for a day of networking and learning events. Guest speakers included Big Boom Design, extolling the benefits of a good website while Babette McAuliffe, Publisher and Editor of the Carolina Mountain Life magazine spoke on the importance of print media in relation to the small business owner. Members of SCORE, Service Corps of Retired Executives, shared how the mentoring program available at low or no cost grows successful small businesses across America, one business at a time. The event was funded in part through a cooperative agreement w/ US Small Business Administration.
