A flurry of activity for the newly-created Town of Boone Cultural Resources Board starts with the full Cultural Resources Board meetingTuesday at 9am on the lot of Horn in the West to begin a tour of facilities the town owns that will fall under their purview. Then, next Friday morning, the Jones House subcommittee will meet at 10 at the Jones House.  The committee will work on policies, procedures, and guidelines for the operation of the Jones House. The town of Boone ended its contract with the Watauga County Arts Council for operation of the Jones House and various programs there early in the summer, seeking to hire a new staff member and form the new board to oversee the numerous resources the town owns.
