![]() Former A.C. Reynolds running back A.J. Marion has made a verbal commitment to attend North Carolina A&T University to play football next fall. Marion, according to his former coach Shane Laws of the Rockets, Marion will most likely be a red-shirt freshman next season. Marion is currently attending Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., a military boarding school. Marion suffered a knee injury at the beginning of the season last fall and played sparingly. He gained 350 yards and scored six touchdowns in limited action. He missed ACR's season opener against Watauga at Jack Groce Stadium last season. The Rockets won that game, 21-14. And the Asheville High football team will be taking on Byrnes High School (S.C.), which is ranked fifth in the nation, in a three-team jamboree at T.C. Roberson Friday night at 8 p.m. The other games features Polk County taking on Spartanburg (S.C.) at 6 p.m., and TCR playing Gaffney (S.C.) at 7 p.m.
