Watauga deputies were dispatched to Longhope Road near NC 194 where a stabbing victim was found initially in the woods in the predawn twilight.  A caller reported that he heard calls for help in woods behind his home on NC 194, and walking through the woods, found a man—apparently suffering stab wounds to the chest—in an area behind homes on Longhope Road.  Reports from the scene indicated a domestic situation may have led to the stabbing, but injuries were not regarded as life threatening, and the victim was transported by Watauga Medics non-emergency traffic to Watauga Medical Center.   The Watauga Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
