Travaris Cadet, who was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted player, made a strong showing for his new team in its pre-season opener Sunday night. Cadet, who led Appalachian State in rushing last season, caught eight passes
for 80 yards and a touchdown as the Saints downed the Arizona Cardinals 17-10 in the Hall Of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. Cadetl scored on a four-yard toss from Chase Daniel just before halftime that gave New Orleans (1-0) a 17-7 lead. Cadet also carried the ball six times for minus 3 yards. Cadet led the Mountaineers with 651 rushing yards last season with six touchdowns; he also caught 34 passes for 333 yards and a touchdown; and Cadet, who joined ASU in 2009 from Pearl River Community College from Poplarville, Miss., racked up more than 1,700 yards for the Mountaineers last season.
