For the second time this week, Chick-fil-A is in the national spotlight, as today is supposed to be the day that gay couples respond to the stance of Chick-fil-A owner Dan Cathy on the issue of same sex marriage. Plans announced by same-sex couples are for going to various Chick-fil-A restaurants and kissing.  Whether any such activity will take place at the local Boone restaurant is now known, but Blowing Rock Road was backed up Wednesday with those showing support for Cathy’s stance. Local franchise owners say that their restaurants are open to all and that the controversy has nothing to do with their businesses.
