![]() The Hickory Crawdads maintained their share of first place in the North Division of the South Atlantic League by crushing Delmarva 9-1 Thursday night at scored at L.P. Frans Stadium. Alejandro Selen belted a grand slam and drove in five runs; and the Crawdads (20-13; 56-47) scored seven times in the second inning to break the game open. Kellin Deglen had a two-run homer and Selen's grand slam highlighted the frame. Hickory opened up a 7-0 and coasted home from there. Winning pitcher Jerad Eickhoff (11-4) kept the Shorebirds (13-20; 41-61) in check with five scoreless innings. He faced the minimum 15 batters during that stretch and scattered two hits. Both those runners were wiped out on double plays. Luis Sardinas hit a solo home run in the sixth. Hagerstown kept pace Thursday night by knocking off Lakewood, 8-6; Greensboro defeated West Virginia, 9-6. Lakewood and Greensboro find themselves two games behind the Crawdads and the Suns in the North Division. The Crawdads were 5-3 on their eight-game home stand.
