The Boone Town Council has called a special meeting for Friday morning to bring together the Downtown Boone Development Authority, the Appalachian Theater Committee, and the Town Council to, as the release says, “identify, and approve the next steps
necessary in the process…for a seamless transition to the new organization,” an organization that will have the mission of rehabilitation, restoration, and ultimately operation of the Appalachian Theater. The town bought the theater several months back with the intention that a group would pay the town back and set up the theater as its own operation. The Friday meeting will be at 9am at the Jones House on King Street.
