Another call is going out for blood and blood product donations, and the media of the High Country is hoping to answer with a request for anyone to help this week. The Red Cross has an emergency need for blood and platelet donors of all types, and to help ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need, members of the local media are sponsoring the High Country Media Blood Drive at Watauga High School on Friday from 8 am to 7 pm. There will be giveaways –a 42 inch flat screen TV, Wii game console, tickets to concerts, Crawdads, and ASU football, and newspaper subscriptions.  You can call 264-6397 to make an appointment for the High Country Media Blood Drive, Friday from 8 to 7, brought to you by the stations of High Country Radio, Mountain Times Publications, and Charter Media.
