New storms made their way through the High Country yesterday afternoon with the National Weather Service issuing a Flash Flood Warning for the area.  Avery County and areas around Blowing Rock were inundated by the storms, and possibly storm related— a house fire inside Linville Ridge.  Linville Firemen were dispatched to the Cottage Trail residence at about 2:40 and searched the residence as there was some concern that a grandfather and a child who called 9-1-1were still inside.  Flames were showing when first units arrived, but the house was cleared and the firefighting effort got underway, laying hose to nearby hydrants.
While that was underway, a woman called 9-1-1 to report a tree on her house, causing another emergency call for help to remove the tree before it might completely flatten the Brushy Creek area home.
