![]() Bria Carter, a 5-foot-11 guard from Spotsylvania, Va., has made a verbal committment to attend Appalachian State University to play basketball in the fall of 2013. The rising senior is a three-time All-Battlefield District and two-time All-Region player in Virginia. She is also a four-year varsity starter for a Spotsylvania High team that has struggled in recent years. The Knights were 3-18 last season. Carter made an immediate impact at the varsity level as she averaged 14.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game. Carter is a natural point guard, but she's versatile enough to play any positiion on the floor. Carter followed up her sensational freshman year by averaging 18-points a game as a sophomore. She has led her team in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks since joining the Knights her freshman year.
