Bentley Adds State Champion Jeffrey Ogburn PDF Print

Appalachian State University wrestling head coach JohnMark Bentley announced the addition of Jeffrey Ogburn, Jr. (Poquoson, Va./Poquoson) to the incoming 2012-13 recruiting class on Tuesday. A four-time all-state, all-region and

all-district selection, Ogburn, Jr. finished his high school career with a record of 141-29 with 88 pins. He also won four district and region championships, was a two-time state runner-up and won a state championship at 135 pounds.
In addition to his stellar prep career, Ogburn, Jr. was also a two-time freestyle and Greco-Roman stat champion in club wrestling for Peninsula Wrestling Association (PWA).
The signing of Ogburn, Jr. brings the total number of incoming recruits for the 2012-13 season to 12 after the Apps signed three wrestlers during the early signing period and another eight last month.
