If all this talk about cooler temperatures has you putting spring cleaning on hold, you might consider waiting until the week of May 28th. That has officially been named Community Pride Week in Watauga County.
The week is dedicated to sprucing up the high country, inside and out, and the commissioners and staff want to make it easy for you. It will be a good week to get rid of household and yard debris as county tipping fees will be waived that week. Community Pride Week will end with Household Hazardous Waste Day – a good time to get rid of left over paint, batteries, and other household chemicals. We’ll have more information as Community Pride Week nears.
